Unfortunately, we didn’t get to discuss much about the film with the students when I went to Sherman. The film, When Your Hands Are Tied, focused on Native American expression through unconventional venues, including playing in a punk rock band, skateboarding, and break dancing. Generally, it seemed to hold the attention of the students that decided to come, and I was particularly struck by how pleased they were that it was a native film – that was always the first question of students poking their heads into the room to check out the movie.
