I was following some of the press from today’s People’s Climate March in NYC (which had OVER 300k people!)

Here is an image that particularly struck me.Screen shot 2014-09-21 at 5.21.54 PM

What an amazing picture. I think that your post serves as a subtle reminder that effective, thought provoking media isn’t limited to film. Still imagery is just as, if not, more powerful and evocative than video.

Thankyou for sharing this picture, It is such a strong image! We have been focusing on a movie without sound and how much an image can tell when you block on the noise, and this photo is just that. The diversity of people coming together uniting for the same cause. The power of social media!

Thank you so much for sharing this! I went to the action in LA that was set in solidarity with the People’s Climate March in New York City. People were constantly filming and taking photos of the rally while sharing it on their personal social media sites. It’s really interesting to see how social media can be used as a vehicle for social awareness and conversation. At the same time, social media doesn’t always correlate to taking action.
