I am in the process of creating the UIE’s twitter account. Everybody should be allowed to use this account who feels like they are a part of our movement. The accounts full name is: UIE Community, the password is: earth1freeze and the username is: UIEbuzz. To create my account, I need to select categories I am interested in and find people to follow. Being told by a set selection of categories runs counter to the ideals of the UIE, so I wanted to move forward without following accounts we are not interested in being an audience for. The only way to move forward was to click “follow 40 and continue” which automatically made our account follow 40 other accounts. The accounts that were automatically selected for us to follow were:

-khloe: @khloekardashian

-@makeinindia: “A major new national program designed to transform India into a global manufacturing hub.”- Their actual description.

@KevinHart4real: My name is Kevin Hart and I WORK HARD!!! That pretty much sums me up!!! Everybody Wants To Be Famous But Nobody Wants To Do The Work

@KTLA: The first commercial TV station licensed west of the Mississippi River, KTLA has been keeping Southern California informed since 1947. Join us on…

@ActuallyNPH– I act some. Dig variety acts, Pixar, puppets, theme parks and great meals.

@justinbieber– Let’s make the world better, together. Join my fan club and add me on ‘justinbieber’.

There are dozens of other celebrities and corporate powers that I immediately unfollowed. Regular people and collectives of people who express and share ideas that support change in America’s criminal justice system, healthcare system, media hegemony, or related  Now the challenge is following accounts and voices that do represent things we believe in. Any recommendations about who to follow? Of course, you can use the login information I posted above to access and contribute to the account in any way. Thank you for your help

Apryl just mentioned that the prime minister of Australia has been buying facebook likes, over 50% of them from New Delhi, India. Gina asked the question: “how much does a like cost?” Our hope is that the UIE gets likes for free, spreading fresh ideas that people want to hear.
