So if anyone was at Frary dining hall tonight then you may have noticed the Die-in that some students organized in response to all the bullshit that’s been happening in our nation and the world.

I’m not gonna name names, but I was very disappointed to see a member of our class disrespect this activism and step their way through and over the participating bodies. That was so distasteful.

We learn and talk so much about activism in this class that I thought I was surrounded with a supportive and intersectional community. But what I’m left with after seeing this person give no attention or respect to this die-in is a realization that the activist community on campus is still shitty and not as strong as it should be. We need solidarity.

I’m just astounded and I hope the person who did this, and everyone in this class reflects on their actions and intentions when navigating campus. We can do better.

With that said, I am really proud of all the work that has been done in this class. But resistance is ongoing.

Don’t let this class be the end. Keep on learning and unlearning. Support student activism (not just white activism). Show respect.

That’s all I really have to say.

This is not the same as the Die-in that might be happening at Pitzer snack.

This is a great reflection and message. Thank you! We really so need to continue to be activists and to spread the important messages we have explored in this class.
