I came across this video while doing some research for my project, and thought it was pretty interesting. Perhaps it should be posted on the side of the “This Really Happened” page on our site blog?

It also reminded me of an article I posted on the Mircoagression blog, which I will link here: http://www.latimes.com/local/education/la-me-college-microaggression-20151112-story.html

This video was made in 2014, but the LA Times article is from last week. Clearly, the recent unrest at the colleges across the country has ignited conversations about this incredibly important (but often overlooked) concept that many simply have never heard of before. I hope that these discussions continue to be featured in the mainstream media, and help to educate more people who might not even know what microagressions are, or that they’re making them without realizing it.

This isn’t about micro aggression, but it breaks down white privilege in a very experiential way. Watch as two sisters (one fairer than the other) have entirely different experiences at the same grocery store at the same time! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wf9QBnPK6Yg

Hey! This is the video we wanted to show during our MAP project presentation in class. I said I would post it to the blog later but conveniently forgot. Anyway, here’s the link to the New York Times article I found it embedded within. It gives a pretty good background on student activism against microaggressions on campus. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/22/us/as-diversity-increases-slights-get-subtler-but-still-sting.html?_r=0
