The song ‘Alright’ by Kendrick Lamar has already became one of the major protest songs in BLM movements. After being featured as a representative song of African American community, Kendrick Lamar performed ‘Alright’ on 2015 Grammy Award, and also made a huge effect on social media. In this performance, the song was clearly being presented as a protest song by African American community; the stage was a ‘prison’ and all the dancers were black and dressed as ‘prisoner’ with chains on their feet and hands, including Kendrick Lamar.The performance was portrayed as a “prison riot” , uniting African American people as one against police and prison brutality.
